RFP Responses
Sometimes an RFP response can be built as a new sales proposal. But most often an RFP response has to be made by "filling in the blanks" in the requesting organization's document and returning it. The "blanks" aren't just one-word-answers either.

The predictable reaction is to copy and paste content from "wherever it can be found" to expedite the response. This is seldom efficient and, unfortunately, this is also where errors creep in - errors that can cost far more than any unlikely savings in time.

At first glance, this might not seem like a problem that a document automation solution can solve - because document automation solutions are designed to create documents, and that would mean following through with copy and paste, and then the errors creep in...

Unlike other document automation applications, ActiveDocs Opus has a built-in solution for this very common scenario. The solution is the Research function of the ActiveDocs Opus Client, which leverages the capabilities of the Research Pane in Microsoft Office and the document automation capabilities of ActiveDocs Opus Snippets, directly from the desktop.

The ActiveDocs Opus solution allows companies to re-use static content (like terms and conditions) and dynamic content (like product and service details and graphics retrieved from databases) between their Sales Proposals and RFP Responses and any other appropriate document types.

There is more detail about ActiveDocs Opus on the desktop here - an elegant solution that enables re-use, in ad-hoc documents and in other people's documents, of the content already designed for sales proposals and other automated documents.
