ActiveDocs Opus Document Formats


ActiveDocs Opus supports a comprehensive range of output document format options:

  • Microsoft® Word 2007 (OOXML)
  • Microsoft® Word 2003
  • DOC
  • PDF
  • XPS
  • ODF
  • RTF

ActiveDocs Opus will support the OOXML IEC/ISO specification when the specification is supported by Microsoft® Office. For document creation in pure Automated Mode, ActiveDocs Opus also supports:

  • TIFF
  • HTML
  • Named Drivers

ActiveDocs Opus Composition Server's management utilities allow each option to be enabled or disabled to match your requirements. Scroll down for more information about output document formats. Look here for information about format conversion using Microsoft® Word.


OOXML

ActiveDocs Opus supports the current OOXML (Microsoft® Word 2007) format and will support the Open Office XML ISO/IEC specification when the specification is supported by Microsoft® Office.

Microsoft® Word 2007

ActiveDocs Opus creates documents in the Microsoft® Word 2007 DOCX and DOCM (Macro-enabled) OOXML formats by default.

Microsoft® Word 2003

The Microsoft® Word 2003 format is also known as XML and Word ML.

DOC

Microsoft® Word binary document formats for Word 97 and Word 2000/XP.

PDF

The Adobe® Portable Document Format is supported with the addition of Neevia® DocCreator or by using the Microsoft® Word 2007 add-in for PDF and XPS. Neevia® DocCreator may also be used for converting files to the TIFF format (see below) and for Document Delivery by Fax.

XPS

Microsoft®'s XML Paper Specification format.

ODF

The Open Document Format. ActiveDocs Opus creates documents in ODT (Open Document, Text) format.

RTF

Rich Text Format.

TIFF

The TIFF (Graphic) format is supported for Automated Mode document creation with the addition of Neevia® DocCreator. Neevia® DocCreator may also be used for converting files to the PDF format (see above) and for Document Delivery by Fax.

HTML

The HTML (Embedded Graphics) format is supported for Automated Mode document creation.

Named Drivers

The use of Named Drivers to convert documents into other formats (e.g. PCL, PostScript) is supported for Automated Mode document creation.
